Default HU stud8 5th st

stud hilo heads up against unknown but seemingly straightforward okay player. he brings in with (xx)A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], hero completes with (xx)A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], he calls. on 4th, he catches 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], hero catches 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. he check/calls. on 5th the boards are

him: (xx)A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
me: (xx)A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

hero checks, he bets. what hands can i call with here?

Villian is betting his ragged made low probably. I assume you are raising with: 4 to a flush, 4 wheel cards, or 4 to a 6 (maybe 7). Of course you would raise 5th with most of those hands. Calling, really only with any pair higher than 88 in the hole, split A's, or if you paired the ten.

Basically any legitimate hand you can't raise with. Obviously you're folding J6 or something. But any four-low, pair, or diamond draw (with the possible exception of bare 87) should continue. Not sure what I'd do with something like QJ.

what's the rationale for continuing with something like black 3-7 in the hole? this isn't razz...

You put him on complete air? Or something like one bad one in the hole? Wouldn't he check/fold a lot on 4th vs my A2 suited?

Calling here just seems like playing catch-up in the dark having no clue what he has.
