Anyone know the best way to get from Chiang Mai to Krabi?

I know there's a bus that goes from Bangkok (Sai Tai Mai terminal) to Krabi for like 500 baht, which I think I'm gonna do because a plane flight is 1500 baht more expensive. Not sure about trains. I think I'm just gonna take the night train back to bangkok then get a metered taxi to Sai Tai Mai then buy there to avoid any possible crazy commission charges.

You should totally fly. Long bus rides in Thailand are to be avoided at all costs. Really slow and bumpy and boring in my experience. Fly AirAsia or OneTwoGo or some cheap flight. See the websites and you can get deals sometimes. More than once I flew on AirAsia at really low prices. The tax cost more than the ticket if I remember correctly. Have fun!
