Threads about long lines, cards, and etc..etc. but so far I haven't read anything about the dealers. So, if you are there...tourney and cash games.....

I heard about the dealers misreading hands because of the new cards, but that's pretty much it.

Are the dealers getting screwed on what they are getting (paid) like they did last year?

There are a lot of newbies that don't have much or any experience with tournies. It seems odd because there were threads indicating that Harrah's thought they had plenty of dealers. Just about every satellite dealer I asked did not work the Series last year.

Bally's and Paris are both short of dealers, haven't been to Caesars yet.

A Flush Doesn't Beat a Full House

On a flop of {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{5-Hearts}, the small blind bet, a late position player called, and Jennifer Harman called from the button. The turn was the {10-Diamonds}. The small blind bet his last 100 chip, the late position player called, and Harman folded. The river was the {3-Diamonds}. The late position player showed a flush, while the small blind turned up Q-3 for the rivered boat.

As the dealer began to push the pot to the late position player with the flush, Annie Duke jumped out of her seat to correct the dealer, who was awarding the pot to the wrong player!

"I don't think a hand has gone by where we haven't had to explain something to the dealer," Duke commented.

Played four hours worth of the PLHE event today, and 2 of 3 dealers were actually on their game, with 2 of the 9 I had were fantastic.

Overall I've felt that the dealers have been much better than last year.

Well they are keeping their own in cash games so they can't get screwed the same way as last year, and I doubt there has been a distribution yet of any tournament tokes.

Personally I decided to skip the WSOP this year -- I'm dealing at the Venetian to avoid the grief.

That's a pretty high percentage for a PL game. I usually don't expect much from PL dealers and when they do a good job I am surprised.
