i hope it is too Miles, between u and Guru this is a bit depressing for all us grinders.

I often wonder when/ if I will have to make a post like this when my spending and constant BR withdrawals catch up with me.

Well I am very suprised by all this becuz Ive read many of your posts and I know youre one of the best posters on this forum. So I know the reason you are losing is not becuz of your skill level/lack of knowledge. It has to be something else.

Some ideas that come to my mind that maybe lead to your struggles:

1) Bad table selection. In your T9s post and your AJ post you described two tables I would never play at. This leads me to believe that your table selection is not as good as it should be.

2) Bad site selection: If youre playing 5-10 or below you should not be playing at pokerstars. You should be playing at a site that gives you rakeback. My best friend (thehip41) is down around 300BB's over the last 2 months yet he has still made money due to rakeback and bonuses. I have had many similar bad runs and yet still made money for the same reasons. Rakeback is not just a wonderful financial buffer. It is also a great psycological aid when times are tough.

3) Ego. You may attach too much importance to winning or losing. If winning makes you feel great and losing makes you feel terrible then you may not be about to properly handle the inevitable long losing streaks. To some extent we all this problem but some people manage this human flaw better than others. If losing causes you to tilt or move up limits then it is clear to me that you can improve in this area. When Im losing heavily I usually stop playing for several days or even a week or so and I use that time to remind myself how great life is and then Im ready to play again. If I was mentally stronger I would just play through my losing streaks and make more money at the end of the year but I am not so thats how I adjust.

After saying all this, I hope you never self-destruct again. There is nothing more tragic to me in the poker world than a great player with no money. So I hope you recover and figure out why you let this happen to yourself and never do it again.

I know this is cliche but all that matters in this game is playing well. Winning or losing doesnt matter and BBs/100 dont matter. What Ive learned about limit holdem after playing the last few years is that survival is really all that matters and if you play well, table select well, and have 1000BB's backing you up, you will survive and you will eventually make money.

I disagree. Miles is not in the right mental state to be staked right now. I believe Miles would agree with me also.
