Let\'s Try This Again: Which CASINOS should I play at when I am in NYC?
I guess there was some misunderstanding about my earlier post. I was asking which casino would be best to play at when I am in NYC, where I seem to be every few months. My typical trip is working during the week and then having the weekend off so I figure it's AC or Connecticut, right? Would it be better to drive there or take mass transit? I usually stay in midtown above 51st St.
I play at the bike in the 3/5 ($200) and 5/5 ($500) NLHE games. These are capped buy ins. Are the games capped back there? Also, do any casino's spread PLO and at what limits? |

there are trains to AC, but if you have a car i'd just drive down to AC it's not too bad probably a few hours tops (it's 3 hrs from western long island), and more options than connecticut

There are a lot of threads on this but the cliff's notes are basically as follows:
1. AC > Foxwoods (more choices etc.) 2. You can take the Academy Bus from Port Authority for about 30 bucks with ~20 casino bonus upon arrival. Takes about 2.5 hours. Return busses run all night from various casinos. 3. Borgata is best choice in AC in terms of Vegas-like amenities. Second place would be the Trop where you should play the pinkchip game if you are a limit player. (7.50/15) 4. Or rent a car. About a ~2 hour drive if not rush-hour. |

Go to AC. Play at Borgata.
I am in NJ right now on business, and I drove down to AC last weekend. It was my first time at the Borgata and it was first class! I played $2/$5 NL ($500 max), and I had a great time. I won the first day and lost it back plus some the second day, but it was very enjoyable. I may head back down this weekend to probably lose some more money, but I'll have a damn fine time while I am at it. |

Do most people buy in max? That would be a better game than my typical 5/5 $300-$500 buyin. What kind of players should I expect on a weekend? How long of a drive would it be from Midtown to there leaving at say 8pm on a Friday? I guess I could take mass transit but I really enjoy driving even if it is at night. I just don't want to get in a 5 hour traffic jam of evening commuters. Maybe it would make more sense to leave early Saturday morning? |

your trip from midtown should be no more than 3hrs...I would recommend Saturday morning instead to avoid the friday evening traffic.

What is the typical wait for a 2/5 table at Borgata (Borg?) on Saturdays and Sundays?

Wait for 2/5 should be minimal.
