If you havn't read the Full Tilt interviews with Roland check em out. He has a pretty dry sense of humor. Hilarious to me anyway.

sorry, just hes a really nice guy if you know him and it was really obvious that the people he was ragging on were either in the studio, friends, teammates or gambling adversaries... nothing like a good bit of cameraderie, etc.

I didn't hear him say he's a great player, I heard him say repeatedly that he's lucky. He said Matasow and Hellmuth are donks and there are loads of great players under 21 years old who are better than some of the established pros.

Whats to disagree with?

[/ QUOTE ]

100% correct here, hellmuth does nothing against the goods of today, only the donks of the past, he always gets knocked out early and cries and yea the under 21's are gross online right now

He said outright that he was joking.

How bitter and/or lacking in comprehension does one have to be to not get it?

Some forms of joking are just stupid. He basically says Mike blows and has a decent A game. How is this not joking? I hate how people consider some things "joking" even though they're telling the truth

Did anyone saying this is irony actually listen to it? He was joking about a couple of people like Jeff Madsen, but I've heard his dry humor and all, but most of the critiques were not ironic.

I did see a funny interview of him and Morrell Sitzii or whoever that guy is called on one of the poker sites where they interviewed the Morrell guy and then they turned to Roland and he just repeated exactly what the other guy had already said, and noone really seemed to notice. Very funny.
