Since this is like the 4th time it has been mentioned, can someone explain this further? I'd like to understand what this means.

There's a better chance of a club or a random better pair that were unlikely to be in his range had David Williams been making conscious decisions.

Random hand more likely ahead then Williams's actual hand based on Williams's actions if he knew what his hand was.

Just to clarify that, you're saying since he said he didn't look, there was a better chance that DW held a hand that had a club or a better pair?

Gobbo's analysis is really solid, so gobbo's really likely to be ahead on the river since william's line makes no sense unless he turned the flush or decided not to 3-bet KQ/AK with a club. In fact, gobbo's analysis is so solid that williams is probably more likely to be ahead against the range that williams knowingly takes that line with than a random hand.

For example, unless williams is way worse than I realize, he's not taking this line with a pair of kings or a 2-high flush.

ItalianFX, look at it this way.

You are Gobbo assigning ranges on the river. If we know Williams didn't look, then his range is any two obviously. If Williams did look, then we can narrow his range based on our read (as Gobbo described in his interview).

Now take those two ranges and compare to board, and voila. Gobbo's equity is less with the "any two" range then it was with the range based on Williams's actions.

I think that a lot of live pro's have a seriously skewed impression that they are more skilled than the better online players.

I think that this event is showing how wrong they are...

I think David Williams is an idiot for a) thinking he is a lot better than Gobbo and choosing to go after him and b) going after Gobbo by playing blind.
