Info on Borgata 10/20 2-way game please
I am interested in playing in the 10/20 Omaha 8/Stud 8 game I have heard about next time I am in AC. I've tried to get in some low-limit O8 during most of my trips to AC, but usually 3/6, and have played very little Stud 8 at all. But I am reading Ray Zee's book right now and looking to put it into action!
Can anyone give me some details on this game? I've read a couple of trip reports from this game on this board, so I figure a few of the posters here must have some knowledge. Specifically: - When & how often does it run? Specific times of day? Ever more than one table? - What is the ante/bring-in structure for the Stud portion? - Is there a kill for both halves? What % of pots are played with kill? - What is the general demographics of the players in this game? The 3/6 games at Trop and Taj seem to have a median ago of 70. - Any impressions of the typical skill level/looseness/aggression of opponents would also be appreciated. |

Re: Info on Borgata 10/20 2-way game please
I haven't played it in awhile, but here are some answers to your questions. Sorry if I get anything wrong.
I usually go to Borgata on Saturdays, it runs on Saturdays from at least the afternoon onward. It is one table. The ante is $1, I forget what the bring in is. The kill is only for Omaha. I don't remember that many pots being killed. The players are generally older. You will see two or three tops guys in their 20s or 30s. Some people seem to think their hands are better than they really are and bet them accordingly in Omaha. I generally go on tilt playing that game because of the nittiness of the players, arguing over rules, and the dealers not used to dealing those games. I am primarily a hold'em player who is used to more hands dealt out faster. |

Re: Info on Borgata 10/20 2-way game please
The bring in is $3. I went down this past Saturday over Memorial Day and there was no game running. First time I've never seen it not going though. I have seen up to two tables going.
O8b is very loose passive. Not a bad game, but poker327 is right about the nittiness, the arguing and the slow moving of the game. Stud8b is abit tighter, but its still okay. But its slow. If this game is not running at the Borgata, you may want to try the Taj if you are possibly game for 15/30/45. |

runs all night fri till about 2 or 3. gets back up late sat. morning. same as sunday.
--avg age is 60+ --avg starting hand in O8 has at least a nine and a jack in it. --stud8 usually has some guy limp calling w/a Queen up. --you get dealt 6 hands a down as nobody can read the board. --guys do not make thin value bets profitable but boring as hell playing ABC poker ten handed. |

Someone sits out each hand. There is a button that gets passed around clockwise.
