Where did you get this? Doesn't make a lot of sense the way it is now. Who's Sherbert?

Anyhow, could be:
It's been a long time/ It took a long time. Did they send it to me, Sherbert?/ Was it send to me, Sherbert?

More info would help translating this.

we have a saying in our home game and I'm not real sure where it's from. "Ship the Sherbert" Sherbert is like ice cream, but just fruit. It refers to a nice pot. It's similar to the 2+2 saying "ship it."

In the first sentence, I was just saying that it has been a while since I've done much German.

edit: I originally heard it "Ship the Sherbert, Herbert"

Ah, ok.

Well, I don't know of a German equivalent to "Ship the Sherbert, Herbert", but if you want to say "It's been a while since I spoke German", just say: "Es ist eine zeitlang her, dass ich deutsch gesprochen habe."

Well, it would be: "Schick mir Sherbert!"

Now and again, I find myself wondering if German is sometimes too complicated a language for poker terms and proverbs.

For example: If you just wanted to say "call" in German, you'd have to say: "Ich gehe mit" oder "Ich halte (die Wette)" - it's just less effort to say this in English "I call" or just "Call".

My homegame vocabulary:

"geb weiter" = "check"
"geh mit" = "call"
"bin draußen" = "fold"
"fuffzich" = "I bet / raise to fifty"
