Default Downsides to Diet Sodas

I used to drink a lot of soda, now I eat extremely healthy and have almost completely eliminated soda. I do occassionally, especially if I'm draggin ass and its too late for coffee. I only drink 0 calorie soda, but is there anything besides calories that I should be looking out for? Don't say caffeine, even though I'm on creatine and they don't match well, eliminating it is not an option.

The phenylalanine in aspartame, if that's what your drink is sweetened with, can make some people spacy if they get too much of it. It does me. It can really mess up my ability to concentrate and sometimes leads to the muscles at the very base of my skull tightening so fiercely that I hear tendons pop when I turn my head -- and it hurts! This is way above what caffeine does to me in terms of too much tension.

I always drink diet rite soda. Sweetened with splenda and it doesnt have anything in it. Tasty as well.

I dont know if it's bad or not.

I hope aspartame isnt too bad because I love sugar free kool aid.

It's like a perpetual motion machine, once the tension starts. It keeps going for hours and may get worse, but it doesn't really get better until I go to sleep at night.

They say some people are more sensitive to it than others, though. But I can get bad effects with caffeine, too. At the end of the day, I can have had so much residual tension for so long that my jaw muscles are really stiff and a little sore.
