Why fold ?

If I go through the blinds I'll be at 80K. Barely an M of 3.

And consider that at this point nearly every round was getting raised up before action got to me.

This is actually close with the fairly big ante, but I would fold.

No problem having 8xBB after going through blinds. With that stack next round, you can push looser, such as with this hand and position.

I don't know.

At about 1/4 the big stack, currently my stack is still scary. After the blinds I'm down to 1/5, and a big stack player not adverse to variance will call me with a wide range.

I look at 1/4 big stack as the pivot point where one's stack goes from still scary to not so scary.

All you have to do is stay in the game until everyone else busts and you take 2nd place money. Being small in relation to other stacks should not be scary.

No one makes the final table thinking like this.

At the time of this hand there were about 6 tables remaining and I was on a rapidly accelerating trend-line where currently 1/4 of my stack is blinded off each round, soon to be 1/3 of my stack.

A check/fold strategy waiting for a premium hand is the worst strategy possible. At <10xBB I'm clearly in pushbot territory and what I have going for me more than anything else is my still-significant fold-equity.

I'm not sure K9o on UTG+1 was correct, but I believe it was very close. In late-stage tourney play I think FTA is much more important than position. UTG ceded FTA to me.

You could listen to betgo. He knows what he's talkin about. Or, you could make a thread and not listen to any of the advice. And, you could keep making -EV shoves. Your choice.

No need to take bad gambles bavause you are short stacked. Push next round after you are blinded down.
