tough decision cause the only hand that beats you is AK on the flop and w/ him on the button he could have a wide range (does he raise an unopened pot on the button alot?)... you could c/r the flop and if he comes over the top of you on the flop fold

since OP took control of the hand pre-flop, it's not likely that villain will bet out allowing hero to c/rai.

Also, c/rai is gross; the only thing that's calling is a hand that crushes the hero's

given the stack sizes I don't think we can ever fold to a $38 bet on the river.

why check and allow villain to showdown his worse hands and value bet his better hands?

also, i agree that checking the flop or turn is bad. but if you bet more on the flop you can probably just stick it in on the turn.

yeah , i dont checking the river here is ever right, because i possibly cannot fold for a 38 bet with toppair topkicker.......... and i also might gain value from a weaker ace.....

so checking the turn seems to be good, for pot controll, but i also dont want spades to give a cheap draw.......

so i really dont know whats best here

A little more behind this? We're obviously not folding on the river, why let him check behind?

As played you must call, but talking about your line I think betting 45$ OOP at turn is not a good play. Sometimes "protecting" your hand is just like trapping yourself.
I would check turn against a player thats prolly not going to behave very aggro, and evaluate my future plan based on his turn action.
