Default Why we need to teach poker in the public school system.

With free trade, globalization, huge trade deficits, manufacturing moving off shore, our economy is slowing while China and India are growing rapidly. We are also lagging behind in mathematics hurting our competitiveness in science and engineering. Teaching poker in the public school can counter these effects. By using two plus two books we can enhance critical thinking skills, mathematics, game theory, and how to asses a risk-reward situation. Plus with educated poker players, and a global network of online gambling we weill have advanced players bringing in money to our economy. Money that we have lost from our declining industrial infrastructure.

Ignoring the rest of this, would it really bring money here? A vast majority of online poker players are already American, and poker sites make billions of dollars off of us. Can we really make that up in winnings from foreigners?

Why would teaching Americans to gamble lead to more Asians gambling?

Incorrect, and you misunderstood what I wrote.

I was referring to [Americans as a whole] making enough net profit off of [non-Americans as a whole] to overcome the rake. That would be necessary for it to "bring more money here," would it not (given that these poker sites are all foreign-based and run)?

Why don't we just teach them Carlton Sheetz's formula for making millions buying & selling real estate with nothing down so that they can all be millionaires and not have to worry about social security going broke?

Why don't you teach your kid how to play poker, and not rely on some fuckup teacher to fail at it?
