Here are some wacky rules that I know of:

-(as already mentioned) four flush (four cards of the same suit) beats one pair
- blaze (five face cards that must contain at least one J,Q,&K) beats two pair
- skip straight (4-6-8-10-J)
- round the corner straight (Q-K-A-2-3)
- in tourney play: to raise the blinds after e.g. 3 rotations of the button (not that wacky I guess; but we don't use it, so it was new to me)
- when in a (e.g.) $1/$2 NL, you can raise a $2 bet to $3 ignoring the "you-have-to-raise-at-least-the-amount-of-the-previous-bet/raise" rule
- suits are used to break a tie (flush of hearts beating a flush of diamonds, or a royal straight of spades beating a royal straight of clubbs)
- no obligation to burn any cards
- to use a deck down to the last card and then reshuffle. So, the deck is used twice or more times, until all cards are in the muck, or until there are not enough cards left to give every player a full hand.
- to shuffle only once

Do I understand this properly? You must have at least one each of J Q & K and two other face cards to beat two pair? I suppose this can piss off aces up, but otherwise, er, yeah, kings or queens up (or a set) beats most two pair.

Exactly what I was thinking. I think this has been explained poorly b/c really how often would that come into effect?

blaze beating two pair; example:
Player 1: JJ KK Q
Player 2: JJ AA 3
Normally, Two Pair with Aces would win. Here, five face cards beats two pair. Sounds crazy, but that's the way it is. (That's why it's a wacky hand - just wierd.)

I've heard of a home-game rule where you can make a wrap-around straight - e.g. JQKA2.

Awesome! LOL

Reminds me of this story... In a friend of mine's home game they had a player that had never played before. He had to be told the hand ranks, etc.

At one point in the hand he asked while examining the hand chart and his cards... "For a straight, can an ace be low?"

The rest of the players responded, "Yes."

He bet ... the rest of the players folded.

LMAO!!!

but that's the only hand it would beat.. you might as well just say five face cards beats aces up. also your "skip straight" is messed up the J should be a Q. basically most of your post seemed kind of off.. are you on drugs?

I agree a blaze is silly, but it wouldn't only beat aces up.
For example:

QQJJK
would beat
KK223

At my otherwise normal home game, rabbit hunts cost a big blind which is put into the next pot.

I have tried to get rid of this a couple times, but people seem to like it. The good side of this rule is that we usually only have one or two rabbit hunts per night, the bad side is that every time it happens it really slows the game down, as people try to negotiate splits of the fee, then some newbie has to be filled in on what all the discussion is about, then the next hand is weird cause there is an extra big blind in the pot.

True. Sorry for that. But hey, you noticed, so you caught the idea.

Well, it was late when I wrote it.
However, what's the deal? It was asked for wacky rules, I provided some, so don't mess with me. It's the rules that are off, not the post.
