Harrah\'s NO
I'm taking a weekend trip to visit some high school buddies in New Orleans. One of them plays 1/2nl at Harrah's pretty regularly and asked if I'd be interested. What games are normally spread and is it at all worth it?
I've been to casinos' pretty religiously for the past few months and have no interest in having a routine experience. I'm only interested in a new experience. Any help is appreciated. |

Re: Harrah\'s NO
It's a casino. The poker room is bigger than most, with predominantly 3/6 LHE, 1/2 NLHE, a few 2/5 NL, a couple of 4/8 1/2 Holdem/1/2 Omaha, maybe a couple of 5/10 NLHE, and an occasional 10/25 NLHE or 15/30 limit Omaha High. There's about 26 tables. Rake structure is regional standard, which is 10% $5max + $1 JP drop at $20 or $6/down + JP for NL. Game quality appears to be picking up with spring, but YMMV.

Re: Harrah\'s NO
The 4/8 Hold 'Em/Omaha mixed game is full of players bad at Hold 'Em, worse at Omaha.

Re: Harrah\'s NO
True. The 4/8 Hold Em Omaha crowd has a lot of older players who are bad at hold em and worse at Omaha. The hold em pots are way smaller than the Omaha pots at the same table.

Re: Harrah\'s NO
True, but the 1/2 NLHE games are full of players who are bad at holdem. They're probably also bad at Omaha.
