Betting a weird amount is bad though. I see people bet weird amounts for the first time in a game all the time and it's almost always the nuts.

chicagory, I agree that betting a weird amount is often very strong (though definitely not always the nuts) BUT spewdonks tend to interpret it the other way. You know how in Caro's book of tells he suggests people are looking to call, and to induce a call do something odd that makes them suspicious, as this will usually result in them making the call? I feel funny bet sizing is the same against spewdonks who are looking for spots to be aggro.

Ok, example:

<font color="#cc0000">Hero raises to t125</font>, BB calls t75 <font color="aaaaaa">(pot was t150)</font>.

Flop: 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (t250, 2 players)
BB checks, <font color="#cc0000">Hero bets t195</font>, BB calls t195 <font color="aaaaaa">(pot was t445)</font>.

Turn: T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (t640, 2 players)
<font color="#cc0000">BB bets t50</font>, Hero calls t50 <font color="aaaaaa">(pot was t690)</font>.

<font color="#cc0000">BB is all-in t1150</font>, Hero folds.

Is this the first time he shoved you?

I am interested about what happened earlier.

No. He had made a bunch of minbets, some PSBs, and a couple of 2x pot bets, but no shoves. He had shown down both air and good hands when minbetting, but I hadn't called down anything else.

This line looks strong to me too. I don't think it is a bluff.
