Fun hand from insane 10/20 game
Live at some random place in san diego. Game is 10/20 with a forced 40$ live straddle, so it plays pretty big. The stacks vary from around 50k to 5-6k and it's very agressive.
Hero has just moved to the table, and is running fairly hot to start his first few orbits. Effective stacks are 7k. He limps AA utg and obv only an unkown limps behind him, and another limper in the co. Flop Q64r. Hero leads for 150, UTG+1 limper pops it to 500, folds back and he calls. Turn is an 8, hero checks, villian bets 900. Would later find out later that utg+1 was fairly tag and solid, but against an unkown how do you take the hand from here? Against a tag? |

Re: Fun hand from insane 10/20 game
Raise preflop. Probably more unusual to limp in a game like that than to raise. Hope to get re-raised. Postflop, I probably just muck to the flop raise. Dry board, limped pot, reverse implied odds, etc.

Re: Fun hand from insane 10/20 game
Can you clarify the preflop action? You said there was a forced live straddle. I assume that wasnt you in the hand?
So UTG straddles $40, you call right behind, next guy calls $40 as well, and then CO calls? Then straddle checks his option? |

Re: Fun hand from insane 10/20 game
fold this turn if not the flop. i think flop is a lot to do w/ metagame stuffs but by the turn, i think its obv he > one pair most the time, esp if the game has been insane and he knows u could show up w/ AA here.
