You know, I thought of Bad Boy Bubby - but there is no effing way I could say that is a must see.

Whatever you do with it - you will only see it once.

[/ QUOTE ]

Okey, MUST SEE might be an exaggeration but it has its moments. =)

Forgot one:
Undead
A quaint Australian fishing village is overcome by meteorites that turn it's residents into the ravenous undead, leaving a small group of those unharmed to find a way out.

District B-13 I haven't seen mentioned yet. It's an action movie, french I think. Has some great action/chase scenes, and an interesting enough script.

[/ QUOTE ]

This movie is very very good, and I really don't like action flicks.

You do have to not mind reading subtitles though. Some people I know hate subtitles.

And yes it's French. The actual name of the movie is "Banlieue 13", hence the English title of District B-13. Plus, the main character is the founder of Parkour, which is cool as [censored].

[/ QUOTE ]

There was some cool action, but it had one of the stupidest plots of all-time.

Oh and..

In the Company of Men 1997 http://imdb.com/title/tt0119361/
Neil Labute's first movie. One of the best dark comedies ever made. Unapologetically cruel.

[/ QUOTE ]

Great choice, and Aaron Eckhart is perfect in this role, as well as the leading lady, can't remember her name.

Not really any worse than your typical run-of-the-mill action movie.

The "good" part of it is that the action is way better/more real than most movies.

This movie is not obscure at all and is actually a classic, but I've been running into more and more people who haven't seen it or heard about it so I should probably throw it out here as well: La Haine. Probably the best movie ever about life in a ghetto .

Trigger Happy
So obscure that it didn't appear in theaters and they changed the name from Mad Dog Time. VHS only, and one of the very few I own. One of a kind; has anyone seen it?

The Music of Chance is based on a Paul Auster novel and stars James Spader. The story of a Rounder who gets picked up hitchhiking by a guy whose marriage has just fallen apart. Rounder persuades divorcee to stake him in a juicy game against two old rich guys.

Game not juicy. Rich guys win. Losers can't pay and so winners extract their pound of flesh through manual labour. Great book, great film.

[/ QUOTE ]

Wow, I thought I was the only one who saw that. Excellent choice.

I nominate East-West (Est-Ouest). A Russian couple living in France come back to the Soviet Union after WWII.

Also, while hardly obscure, see American Splendor.
