Give Carlesimo credit for at least figuring out a halfway decent game plan: pound it in down low against the weak Suns interior defense with whatever you've got, get a lot of offensive rebounds, draw fouls when possible. It kept the game close and I was worried well into the fourth quarter that the Suns were going to find a way to lose to one of the worst teams in the league. May have too, had the Sonics had more effective interior scoring. See Duncan, Tim.

Plus, Kevin Harlan could find a way to broadcast going to the bathroom in the morning into a dramatic event. OH! HE DROPS A DEUCE RIGHT IN THE CENTER OF THE BOWL. No lack of enthusiasm coming from that guy.

Sonics looked sexy last night. Durant, Wilkins, Petro, and Wilcox all should be fun to watch. They need a PG ASAP. Luke is weak, West is a cast off, and Watson looks like the kid from the Munsters.

Petro is only fun to watch because he might fall and hurt himself and/or others. He feels like he's got a basketball IQ of about 8.

Dellusion and optimism convince me that Swift has to be such a huge upgrade....

Harlan irritates me because everything seems so fake. His excited reactions extend far longer than they should, and they're occasionally delayed.

So he'll be in the middle of saying something, and someone will make a spectacular dunk or an important three, and he'll stop talking, take a second to gather himself, then let loose with "Kobe Bryant! Right between the eyes!" And the other team will have crossed half court, and he'll still be shouting at the top of his lungs "Forty points for the NBA's leading scorer from a year ago!" and by the time he's done the next possession will be over.

I'm not explaining it well.

What is Key Arena named after? Not a sponsor, right? Isn't that the place where they've played for many years that they remodeled fairly recently or am I thinking of somewhere else? Where did they play back in the mid-90s when they had Kemp, Payton, McMillan, and those guys?

I believe it was called the Coliseum before the name change.

I still think that the Supes will end up staying.

It's going to be hard for Bennet to get out of the lease anytime soon, and I think sooner than later a viable local ownership group with a plan for a new area is going to show up.

Realistically, nobody has tried to work with local government to get something done. Schutlz was either incompetent or dishonest, and we know that Clay Clay was full of [censored]. Stern can bluster about "miracles" now, but he doesn't want a team leaving this market.
