I think more of Dr. Bob's subscribers might be total squares than you might think.
In the WSJ article from a few mths back they mention how ticked off some of his subscribers would get at him when he would lose and Dr. Bob's respose I think was something along the lines of "sigh...they expect me to win every single week and some just don't understand that isn't possible."

I mean, just look at what's happening.
Dr. Bob himself wouldn't touch this game at -5. Everybody here understands that. But that doesn't stop the Dr. Bob steamers from jumping right in because, "-3.5...-5...is there really THAT big a difference? Dr. Bob likes it at -3.5 so it must still be good and I want action tonight!!!"
