Grade the July Magazine
This month the Magazine finally gets its long-awaited makeover. Kiera Goetz is respnsible for the new look and I expect she'll continue to fine tune the Magazine base on your comments. It's my hope this is just the beginning of improving the Magazine in many ways.
A book excerpt from Professional No-Limit Hold 'em: Volume I by Matt Flynn, Sunny Mehta, and Ed Miller is the feature article this month. That along with several of our best returning authors (Brokos, Albright, Jerome) gives this month a good foundation. I also think Al Krtaz's article, which was inspired by Phil Laak's interview comment about the Kelly Criterion, should create some good discussion on bankroll management. We decided to make the Magazine live on 7/1 despite a couple articles from Timothy Bruce being in limbo. Tim has been camped out at the Rio during the WSOP making contacts for future interview articles. I expect his two articles will be added to the Magazine in the next few days. Strategy-4 Stack-To-Pot Ratios: Introduction by Matt Flynn, Sunny Mehta, and Ed Miller Your First World Series of Poker by Andrew Brokos Quantitation of the Power of Position in Pot Limit Omaha by Andrew Albright Limit Omaha 8 or Better Post Flop Theory Part II by Frank Jerome General Poker- 4 An Aggressive Approach to Bankroll Management by Al Kratz Using a feedback Control Loop to Optimize Estimations by Shon Shampain Implication of the Modern Tournament Prize Structure and Note on Badugi by David Sklansky Classic Article- Today and Yesterday by Mason Malmuth Non-Poker- 1 Evaluationg My Own Results by King Yao |

By the way I'd like to see more badugi. [/ QUOTE ] Triple draw lowball, too. There is very little published material on either of these games (obviously, there's significant strategy overlap). |

Re: Grade the July Magazine
I was primarily responding to the end of David's article where he asks if there is interest. The articles that have been published in the 2+2 magazine on the subject have been very useful but obviously are not a comprehensive treatment of the game (nor are they intended to be). I don't know how successful a 2+2 book on multiple draw lowball variants would be at this point in poker history but I'd surely buy one if they went ahead with it.

Mason, when will bobbofitos book be released? [/ QUOTE ] The book has not been accepted yet, I need to add more words. Since I've been in Vegas for the WSOP, I have not been able to write anything, so I imagine the final manuscript wont be ready (especially for publishing) for some time. |
