EPT Deauville cancelled

Bad news.
This decision is relative to a new french law which makes the publicity for gambling illegal.

But they added one in Germany (Dortmund) which will be televised and another one in Poland (not televised)

Don't know about Poland but the EPT in Dortmund should be a great event.

There were some rumors about that so some people called the casino which confirmed, without giving the reason, but it's clearly the for the reason I mentioned above.

Deauville sats are still running on Stars. Including a $475 sat with 180 players duking it out for 9 Deauville packages of $9k each that is taking place RIGHT NOW.

I'm in the media room at the PCA Bahamas and I just asked the Stars people about it. They said it is NOT cancelled. They are going to put something up on the website now.

what a shame, pokerstars still running satellites i hope they will roll up theirs sleeves and make it change

the reason i guess is that online poker is forbiden to promote in france

"The EPT would like to announce there are no plans to cancel the Deauville tournament. REGISTRATION STATUS: Deauville is now a five-day event and will be capped at 700 players."


In other news, I would love to qualify for the Warsaw event because I think their currency has a cool name "15,000 Polish Zlotych (PLN)".
