cigar newb question
I just recently started smoking cigars and really enjoy it. I realized that I needed a humidor if I was going to keep a selection on hand. After some shopping around, I opted for this combo kit
My questions is do I need anything else for a small collection of cigars (maybe 50-75 at the most)? Where I get confused is with the humidifier. After doing some searching, I see there are many options out there for humidification, but will the one that comes with this humidor suffice? |

Re: cigar newb question
50 cigars is a lot. My housemate smoked one and thought he really liked cigars. He spent 400 on them and has smoked 2 since he got them 5 months ago.

Re: cigar newb question
I figure that would be a max for me. I have actually been smoking them for several months now, but I get aggravated going to the local shop every day or 2 to buy 1 or 2.

Re: cigar newb question
The one that comes attached to the lid of the humidor will work. The solution mixes with water and releases water into the air. The digital hygrometer is nice, too. Keep it full of cigars to keep the humidity more constant (less air, less change).

Re: cigar newb question
How long can you keep cigars in a humidor?

Re: cigar newb question
I age some of my cigars for 1-2 years. As long as you keep the humidity around 70 and rotate them once in a while, you can keep cigars for years.

Check out guids' post opening the cigar thread on El D's board. There's humidor/humidifier tips on there that are worth reading.
