[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] How many bars have you walked into with a table tennis, skeeball, bowling, shuffleboard, horsehoes, or airhockey game going? [/ QUOTE ] Sorry - guess I'm a little unclear on your criteria based on your list. -Al [/ QUOTE ] Are you confusing clubs(dance) with bars? I am from old-school-like East Coast style bars but we would go to certain joints that had such things, all the things above (except maybe bowling). All American Legion/VFW/Eagle like bars have such things are well. [/ QUOTE ] You may not be able to bowl at a bar, but anyone who goes to a bowling alley without a bar is a damn fool |

[ QUOTE ] Bocce Ball/lawn bowling? [/ QUOTE ] This is typically a team game? no? [/ QUOTE ] not really, it's the same whether you play with teams or HU. you just throw all the balls for your "team". similar to horseshoes. |

Re: Non-Sport/Bar Sports - Decathlon
For the sake of it not taking all day, I think teams should be the way to go for some of these games. OP didn't make it clear (that I saw) how many people are participating, but let's say he has eight guys. Then on some of the events that could be team-oriented you have four teams of two. Play an elimination-style tournament and award points to each individual based on how their team performed in that event. For example, a team winning in bar shuffleboard would net five points for each player, a team finishing second would get two each, and the last two teams get zero. Or something like that.
You could pick the teams randomly or by some other manner, but the point is that I think having some of the ten competitions be with a teammate would make things a lot more fun than if you had ten solo competitions. |
