I'm assuming that he will tend to bet overpairs and check behind TP, which I think is realistic vs this sort of player. So when our equity is horrible we get away and when it's good we have a shot at a river v-bet vs hands that tend to fold the turn with non-zero frequency.

edit: by near-optimally I mean we can play nearly as if we can see his cards.
