I suck with aces
I just started playing on FTP, got 3 times aces today and lost 3 times. Somehow I felt I was totaly overplaying/missplaying them.

Re: I suck with aces
Hand 1
The turn bet is a bit large. He seems to be chasing a straight or flush and either missed his flush or hit his straight. If you bet a little less on the turn, maybe you can get away on the river. As played, the river call is fine. Hand 2 Flop bet is a bit big for my taste, but is justifiable. I hate the turn shove. You have the A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] so even if he has the flush you still have outs. I either check behind or make a 1/3 pot sized bet. Hand 3 Fine on all streets. Summary I think Hand 2 could have been played better. You got unlucky on Hands 1 and 3 it seems. |

Re: I suck with aces
The problem with AA is that most of the time your hand won't improve and you have to depend on TP to win. I tend to bet most flops aggresively like you did, but then slow down if I get called.
For instance, in hand 1, after he called your reraise, I would have probably checked behind on the turn or bet only 1/2 the pot, depending on who I am up against. Hand 2, since you had the nut flush draw, I would have bet 3/4 of the pot, but shoving against certain opponents isn't bad either. Hand 3 I play about the same as hand 1 |
