10 NL 99 standard?
Read: He seemed pretty solid and I had not seen him get out of line, this was also the first time I saw him CR anyone like a call here?

Re: 10 NL 99 standard?
The checkraise looks like we're beat. Calling this flop raise is probably the worst thing we could do. If no spade hits the turn and he bets, we can't call or raise. Given your read that he's a decent player, I can't think 99 is good here. I drop it on the flop.

Re: 10 NL 99 standard?
Tough spot. I think raising is the worst option and that calling and folding are both legitimate. I don't hate a call as long as we give up on the turn if he fires another serious barrel. If we call and he checks the turn then we're quite possibly ahead.
Pretty wide range for the villain: set, straight (doubtful), overs/spades/both, TT, JJ. We only beat the overs/spades/both. Pushing/raising -- he only calls with 88+ and better, so we're not beating much that he calls (A6 if he sucked but based on your reads doesn't look like it) |

Re: 10 NL 99 standard?
Okay fair enough. I guess my thinking got skewed by the fact that this is 10 NL -- $2 = $5 at 25 NL which is a pretty scary raise; $2 didn't seem like all that much to me.
On second thought, I agree that it's probably smartest to let it go. |
