Default 25NL - AJ TPGK for 175BB against maniac

Villain is 70/42/3.2 over about 140 if I remember right.
Notes are "Will bet >1/2PZB (pot size bet) with very marginal holding eg SPCK (second pair crap kicker)"
Read for some crucial reads on villain after the hand history.

Full Tilt Poker, $0.10/$0.25 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 4 Players

Hero (SB): $44.50
BB: $10.50
UTG: $86.05
BTN: $39.10

Pre-Flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (SB)
UTG raises to $0.75, BTN folds, Hero calls $0.65, BB folds

Flop: ($1.75) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $0.25, Hero raises to $1.40, UTG calls $1.15

Turn: ($4.55) 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $83.90 and is All-In, Hero WTF???

PF: I dont think I should be raising AJo OOP against this guy, I havent seen him fold to any raise PF yet (except a 4bet to $10 when I had AA).

Flop: He leads out small all the time. If you call he generally will minbet or donk bet on turn. If you raise he seems to come out strong on turn for at least 1/2 the pot and sometimes a small overbet. I've never seen him 4bet flop.

Turn: I was expecting a strong bet from him, hence I checked because he might have raised any bet I made and I didn't want to inflate the pot.

Like I said in my notes I have seen this guy make huge bets with very bad cards a lot of times. His range could be 96o to TT. I have never seen him go all in but last 15 or so hands he has been making heaps of out of line plays like betting $10 on a $2 flop and open-raising 10BB PF.

Kinda seems like a lot of info but I did have some decent reads on him. Given the reads I was leaning towards calling but I have no idea, especially for so much BB.

This seems like a good argument for raising, given his stats. AJ is probably pounding his range, and he's so loose that you don't have to worry too much about domination.

If you haven't seen this shove before, I probably sigh and fold, most days. You need to win slightly less than 50% of the time, he probably doesn't have complete air, and his stats are so loose that you can't rule out any of the hands that beat you. I tend to think that a lot of these guys really do go bananas like this with a hand because nobody ever gives them credit. If you've seen him make a full on shove like this before with a middling hand, then yeah, call, but that doesn't sound like the situation.

I'm not sure what my borderline hand is for calling regularly here. Maybe AK, maybe A9.

fold wait for a better spot. there's not enough money in the pot make it worth going to war here.

Seems to be an excellent argument for reraising pre here.

I 3 bet pf, not because I am hoping he folds but because I want value. Then I bet the flop strong, bet the turn strong, and c/c a river blank seeing as how he looks pretty damn aggro. As played I fold turn despite his stats. This is the first time you said you have ever seen him do this and he usually bets 1/2 pot with weak hands. A guy like this is probably going to show you two pair or a set here often I think figuring his big bet will get called because of how he has been playing. Even idiots know if theyre playing maniacal or not.
