Mods, is a gimmick account grounds for insta-ban?

Possible scenario in BMW's thread "RIP Stan Ivey" where I say that "yves saint" and "stan ivey" is a jumble and that my new name if I got banned would be "Nampa Sams"....then Nampa Sams would say something like, "Bastich! You would steal my name!"......

It seems like it boils down to how funny it is, is it offensive, etc. A few months ago a now banned poster TheFaucet made a gimmick account "EricVV, a parody of EricW in BBV4L. The account was instabanned and IP banned as well. TheFaucet had to appeal for his IP to be reinstated.

Some gimmick accounts do work on here, but you would have to make sure its funny and tasteful, IMO. Personally I'm not sure why but Florescent Pig always makes me laugh.

as well you should....it was a STUPID idea. My old age has taught me to think before I act. However, GW, I have a half-year of semi-goodness working for me in BBV that I would appeal to. You'd let me back, I'm sure.

No, gimmick accouts are not grounds for a ban. I have a few gimmick accounts myself. However, your main account can be banned if you use the gimmick to break a rule. Also, if your gimmick is really stupid or is otherwise annoying, the gimmick may be banned.
