Default Guitar Hero Rocks the 80\'s

I managed to find it early and have been playing it the past 2 days. The game is a pure cash in of the franchise. The locations, characters, menus, guitars, modes are all exactly the same as GH2.

But honestly I don't care that much. I still love the game. I kind of wish they had given us something new other than the songs, but I can live with it this time knowing what GH3 and Rock Band offer around the corner. If you are looking for something to tide you over until those games come out it is hard to go wrong here.

So far on expert I only have 2 songs left to 5* and have 100% 4 songs. There are no songs that will take a long time to pass like Jordan. But there are definitely some songs that are almost insanely impossible to fc. Watch out for the solo on Because It's Midnite.

How many songs in the standard career mode and how many more can be purchased as bonus tracks? Or does it not still work that way?

I'm all set to buy this tomorrow... so should I waste my time and get it or just rent it?

If you are the type who played GH2 continuously, buy it.
But if you beat GH2 on expert and then stopped playing, rent it.

I picked this up yesterday and got 5 stars sightreading most of Expert. I only have 4 stars on a couple of the final tier and I haven't beaten Play with Me at all but overall the game seems significantly easier than GH1 and 2. Lots of fun, though, so whatever.

Has anyone seen a combo pack with the game and the guitar for this one? If so, where?

yeah basically every decision they've done has sucked, no stand-alone guitars, no selecting indivd tracks for xbox downloading, this game not being on 360

[censored] them(but the games are so addicting)

I think it's kind of a shoddy product, it looks like Harmonix just shoved it out the door in order to fulfill their contract. Even the songs I was looking forward to are largely disappointing, for example, Asia's Heat of the Moment has a kick ass solo, but the game's cover of it seems to have it omitted, and just plain sucks. And no new guitars to unlock, or videos, or anything new, really, other than the songs. Even so, I'll still likely get my money's worth of enjoyment from it, just not 10x my money's worth like GH2.
