Maybe Giradi is coming in.....

That would work..

I really don't think MLB teams need a rah rah guy, but Hargrove looked like he was on a different planet when managing the game..

considering what hargrove has done with this M's team is pretty solid, something like +4 pythagorean. this has to be good news for the indians.

Attributing anything the M's have done this year to Grover is being charitable.

I have no idea about his capacity to motivate players or anything like that, but in terms of in game tactics, the line ups he used, he was a disaster.

On the sports talk channel I was listening to today, they mentioned that Hargrove didn't feel up to the task of motivating the players anymore as it is so much harder than it used to be (according to him). They also said that he wanted to quit weeks ago, but was talked out of it. Strange that his decision would come during a win streak like this, but I'm sure the Ichiro situation was weighing on his mind as well.

Nope.

They're getting amazing work from their pen. Ichiro is a monster, and I think a lot of players are out performing what we'd expect. Frankly, I think it's a fluke. Winning just enough to miss the wild card is a very bad thing for this club. They need to suck enough to get blown up.

Can they please hire somebody to teach Felix Hernandez how to pitch?

If they just hired someone to get him to throw something besides arrow-straight fastballs for his first 30 pitches his ERA would plummet. Off-speed works in the first inning too, Felix!
