"i pictured more of a pick'em type situation.."

no way. Peavy is the arguably the best pitcher in the league andthe Rockies' Josh Fogg has been good in Sept but isn't exactly a Cy Young candidate.

Most games where Peavy is the pitcher tend to have the Padres around -200 or so. Yeah, he's pretty good.

Rockies with all their momentum plus home-field and Padres with their relative lack of bats lately make up quite a bit of this difference.
But for a game to be pick'em with Peavy pitching you pretty much need him to be matched-up against another team's ace imo.

As for which way the line is going to move...I always suck at that and it should be noted that I suck at betting in general. I'm just discussing here but am hardly an expert.

But I think you might have missed the boat on getting the Rocks at the better price because I believe you could have gotten them for +130 or slightly better when it first came out. Not positive on that though.

re: Indians/Yanks.

I can't believe they only played each other 6x during the regular season. i just went and checked and see that you're right.
God I still dislike silly interleague play. Takes away from the games that in-league teams should be playing against each other like Indians/Yankees...because they don't want to mess with the heavy intra-divisional scheduling.

Take away a couple of the intra-division games and bang the inter-league stuff altogether for all I care.
Indians don't need to be playing the the NL and they really shouldn't have to play the Twins, Tigers and White Sox over and over and over and over.

Anyway, yes CLE went 0-6 vs. NYY.
0-3 in mid-APR at NY and 0-3 in Aug at CLE.

That means so little to the upcoming series though that I really don't think it should be a consideration.

I'm very seriously leaning towards CLE for this series although I suspect I might be able to get better odds just by betting each individual game.

the rockies have everything going for them, including, but not limited to: josh fogg, momentum, home-field advantage.

one of these things is not like the others.

I have accounts at WSEX and Pinny and can find no Series Winner odds or bets on either site.
Am I missing something there or do I need to look elsewhere??

on another note: anyone see any series prices yet?

[/ QUOTE ]

can you guys honestly not find them? they're not exactly well-hidden at any of my books; just look for "MLB Series Prices" or equivalent.

the general market consensus seems to be:

Cle +170
NYY -200

LAA +160
Bos -180

ChC -120
Ari +100

my playoffs post is up on R-D, but it's not the most fertile betting ground this year. on the plus side, if you bet futures before the season, hedge prices are pretty favorable.
