+1 to your post jb.

The point about being a winning player is important too, since it will take many hands to determine if you're truly a winning player at 1/2 and then you may move up to 2/4 and be a losing player since the competition is better. It will take many hands to figure this out tho, and you will have a tough time deciding whether it's just due to bad luck (variance) or you're getting outplayed. That's why if you want to play to have fun, go ahead and play, try to stick to the criteria in this thread, and if you are decent you won't go bust. If you're not good enough to beat the game, at least you'll go broke slowly and have fun doing it. If you're serious about winning, you have to study the game first (or as you're playing it) because then you can be a consistent winner and move up the ladder quickly.
