Default LO8, 5/10 with scared money

Full table, with about 10BB average pot size so I decide to take a shot.

Hero is MP3 with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Preflop: 4 folds, MP2 raises, Hero 3 bets, 2 folds, SB calls, BB calls, MP2 calls.

Flop: 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
checked to hero, Hero bets, all call

Turn: 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
checked to hero, hero bets, 2 calls (BB folds)

River: 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
checked to hero, Hero ???

My high is horrible, and the low may be quartered, but it occurred to me I might be able to fold out busted straights that made two pair thus promoting my TPTK.

Some quick points:

1. Dont 3 bet this preflop.
2. If you get 1/4 on the river, you are only losing $2.5 on that last bet. If you are the sole nut low, then you win an extra $5. Also, one of your foes may have been chasing a nut flush and now has to fold anyway. Whenever you have the nuts one way in a multiway pot and its checked to you, betting can never be a big mistake.

Bet the river.

By betting, you greatly increase your chance of winning the whole pot.

Yes, sometimes you'll get quartered. But in a limit game, getting quartered is no big deal when it happens. Over time you'll show much more of a profit than a loss by betting here.

(I also agree with Big Dave about not three betting before the flop).

Thank you. I've been thinking I was being too weak with lock lows up to now, low limits trained me badly in this respect.

I'm sorry, I thought I mentioned in the post that every hand I watched before I sat down was raised preflop, often by much worse hands than mine. I'm not often in the habit of threebetting a hand like this preflop.
