Re: 50nl 2pair kinda deep
I am probably checking behind on the turn here.
Despite hitting 2 pair I think a (readless) villain that donk bets on the flop and calls a large raise (with CO still to act) on this dry board is a head of us more than they are behind. Without any reads, we're really only beating KQ here, no? Possibly chopping with AK. As played we need to call $41.25 to win $184, it's tough but I think I'm calling. |

Re: 50nl 2pair kinda deep
To be honest, I could tell you that checking behind here for pot control is what you should do, blah blah, but in reality, we got top 2, and this is the kind of board we were hoping for when playing AK preflop. I think you are getting stacked here a lot with JT or a set.
I shove this all day, taking the same line you did. I think this really depends on your kind of opponent and whether you have any raeds on him. I think if you are up against a decent TAG/thinking opponent, I'm more likely to check behind for pot control. I basically don't see myself getting away from this spot, so I'd check behind against a TAG to minimize my losses. Against ordinary drooler, I'm shoving. |
