Default Wiring money to Las Vegas

I will be going to vegas and don't fancy carrying a lot of cash through the airport, and I'm looking at wiring it to a casino and pick it up when I'm there.

The bellagio basically told me it was possible but they would be a pain in the ass when it comes to cashing out in $ not chips...

I couldn't find the number for the cage at the rio, since I'll be playing there a lot I figured they would me my best bet.

Any advice/past experience is very welcome

Nicolas

Can we sticky one of these threads? This is at least the 4th time I've answered this question.

Call the Rio. Tell the desk to forward you to the cage. Tell the cage that you would like to wire money there for the WSOP. They will give you the wire information.

It is not rocket science people.

Thanks for taking time to reply
I expected this much but after having a bad response from the bellagio I thought I'd check with 2+2 members.
And yes I should have made a search. Sorry

You can buy into events will bellagio chips... Last year at least its what I did a lot.

You can also cut a bank (cashier's) check to yourself and bring it to any casino, they just have to verify it which can take some time (less than 1 day)

If you're going to wire money to the Rio, make sure you understand EXACTLY how the process works.

Last year I wired money to the Rio. First, I spoke with someone at the cage who said everything is simple. Well, wiring the money to them was simple. The problem occurred when I tried to get it out. First, they had trouble locating it. Then they asked me questions about where it was journaled. Then the cage manager told me I couldn't take it out as cash; that I had to take it out as chips and play them at a table. Someone finally helped me, though I did have to take the money in chips, I just didn't have to play them and I did use the chips to enter WSOP tourneys.

All this after I explained that I had specifically told them before wiring the money that I planned to use it for tourneys and while trying to get my cash I repeated this.

I'm sure that once you've understand exactly how the process works, it's easy. I went through it once, still don't understand it, don't plan on wiring money again.

Good luck if you do wire the money.

Last year I just took cash with me and made the Rio the first stop when I got into town to get a box. Its not like people are waiting for you to rob you.

That being said I just opened up a new checking account that has a Vegas branch and am putting the money into that account. When I get to Vegas I am getting my money and making an immediate stop at the Rio again.

Forget wires and bank checks, way too much hassle IMO.

the easiest way is to get a cashiers check from your bank and fax it to rio. they will have it verified by the time you arrive at the cage and you will draw off your check any way you want to, in any amount you want and for whatever reason you want it for.

Please explain what you mean by "fax the check" and you will draw off your check any way you want to, in any amount you want and for whatever reason you want it for ?

Thanks as I have never done this before?

they want you to fax them the check ahead of time so they can confirm that it is good. when you arrive, you take your check to the cashier and sign it off to them. then you can draw from the check or take the whole amount and use the money for whatever you want to use it for. it's not just for tournaments or table games or any specific use, it's your money.
