I was in Italy this past summer, but only Rome. I can tell I like Italy, but wouldn't enjoy living in Rome if that makes sense.

My issues with Rome:

- Not nearly enough nightlife. This was huge, the nightlife was just horrid in Rome.

- Not much culture for someone living there. In fact just not much to do in general after your first few days as a tourist seeing the Vatican and ruins. It was awesome to see, but I have little desire to go back to it.

I had other smaller gripes but those were the main ones. City was pretty dirty/unsafe as well compared to what you might expect for Europe.
