Default Correct Decision vs making money

hello eveybody,
I guess this is the wrong forum but in general I only post in SSSH and appriciate comments in here.

So lately I catch up with my months goal of reading more book and I came accros the below statement several times (eg.. in Hilgers "The Poker Mindset" page 50):

in poker you should
- emphasize correct decisions over making money

can someone explain this to me?
how can you make the correct decision to loose money?
isnt the right decision the decision which makes the most money?

forcing yourself to make correct decisions leads to making money.

forcing yourself to make money doesn't lead to making money.

Yeah

Isnt he just trying to say that you should worry about decisions and not short term swings?

Example: 1/2 NL

Preflop Hero is button with J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
UTG raises to 8, 2 folds, Hero reraises to 30, 2 folds, villain reraises all in to $250, Hero instacalls

Flop Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Turn J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

River 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Villain shows 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
Hero mucks.

thats the simplest example I could think up, but basically hero made the ftop correct play and it cost him money.

you can make the incorrect decision by calling when way behind his range, but it could turn out that it was at the bottom of his range so u made money even tho making the wrong long term decision

you could also crush a game, but it could be the wrong decision since u wont get invited back so maybe u dont beat it as badly so u get the chance to make more money in the future. I know he doesn't mean this way but it popped into my head
