A dark and stormy would be terrible without very dark rum. The best for it is Goslings Black Seal Rum. Also, Goya Ginger Beer is disgusting, but I've had good ginger beer.

Tasty but WAY too sweet. It was the first drink I ordered in Cuba and the last mohito I ever had. They spoon a ton of sugar into that mofo.

If it's done right, it isn't too sweet at all; it's got more of a rock-candy sweetness to it, and it's crisp and refreshing.

If you're ever in Vegas, the Petrossian Paris (the piano bar at the front of the Bellagio) has the best ones I've ever found.

Try one at Casa Fuente in Ceasars Palace, they make a fantastic mojito. I'd be interested to know how it measures up to Petrossian's.

Rum Punch ftw:
spiced rum
1/2 pineapple, 1/2 orange
a little grenadine
some coco lopez if you want it creamy

Also Rum Runner, Mojito and Painkiller all rock.

Keep your rum in the freezer, it will taste a lot better in mixed drinks, esp. rum & coke. Use white rum from rum and Coke. Malibu and pineapple is awesome. Malibu and gingerale tastes like cream soda.

I've never heard of anyone using a mortar and pestle to muddle mint for a mojito. You're supposed to muddle it in the lime juice and rum. But yeah, a wooden spoon should work - the thicker the better.
