How to play a pocket pair from the BB?
A decent TAG raises to $35 in late position in a short-handed $5/$10 game.
I call in the BB with 66, the flop comes A74 rainbow. Is my best play to lead out, to check/fold or to check/raise? Or perhaps all of the above in a steady mix? |

TAG is pretty generic. I like mixing it up, generally if I've been tricky I c/r, been tight I bet, been active I c/f. depends a lot on the player though.

This kind of spot happens all the time and is a obvious example of where you won't want to play the same every time.

Raise preflop.

Sometimes I reraise preflop, mostly I call though.
I lead the flop a ton here,- like I also lead air, straightdraws, sets and so on. I don't checkraise a lot. Just be sure you mix it up and it really isn't that important which exact line you pick. |

Sometimes repop pre-flop.
Pretty much never lead here unless you are known to lead with strong hands, or you've seen him fold to it before. C/r a small percent of the time. C/f the rest |
