At a Commerce tourney in February, I got down to a couple of tables. One fairly prominent backer had at least three horses in the final eighteen, perhaps as many as seven. I can't imagine there wasn't softplaying going on, at a minumum.
But I played so damn badly it didn't make a whit of a difference so far as I was concerned.
