Re: Please, tell me how to play JJ deepstacked and in early position
My initial reaction is to pop it to 15 or 16K, because BB has us both covered and if we flat call with JJ, and BB makes it 20K to go what's our line, fold? I'd rather be the one asking the tough question.
I like JJ against Villains range and I'd rather get HU against him with position. |

Call PF. I might raise/fold to a shove if we had 70BBs ourself.

[ QUOTE ]
I haven't noticed him go with the raise in early position so it might or might not be relevant. [/ QUOTE ] It is very relevant. He's probably much tighter in ep than lp, as he should be. Calling is the way to go here. Jarid |

Re: Please, tell me how to play JJ deepstacked and in early position
Thanks for the help folks. I shoved and hated myself for it...especially when CO woke up with KK. I know that's results oriented but in looking back I am putting too many chips at stake here with a deepstack and lots of players to act behind.
OR folded but all-in-all it was the wrong play and this discussion has helped a lot. Seems like consensus here is call and see a flop. Evaluate if there's a squeeze play. Post flop be aggressive on any board with unders. Slowdown on a board with overs but maybe take a stab at it. This of course would be completely different if I had 15BBs, but at 44bbs seems like the right advice. Thanks again. |

Re: Please, tell me how to play JJ deepstacked and in early position
Totally agree that this is an ugly holding in this spot. Way to good to fold and way too vulnerable to play. UGGG
I think the suggestion to 3 bet and plan to call any squeeze probably has some merit but I like the limp and evaluate again later plan. The more nfo that you have before you commit to a line, the better. |

Re: Please, tell me how to play JJ deepstacked and in early position
I haven't read all the other reply's so this might be rehashing but, I think we are deep enough to just call PF and play from there. If we were shorter, say 30bbs or less I would jam over the top. If we were deeper, say 70bbs or more I would raise & evaluate.
If anyone else raises behind then obviously your play depends on whether UTG+1 comes along or not and pot odds etc. depending on who else pushes. Post flop I'm jamming over a cbet on an all low card boards or folding to a cbet on scary boards. |

Re: Please, tell me how to play JJ deepstacked and in early position
Ok I have a question. Exact same situation, but instead of JJ you have AK or AKs.
What'd you do? Flatcall and see the flop? Like with jacks? Push pre? |

Re: Please, tell me how to play JJ deepstacked and in early position
AK or AKs vs JJ are about even so I play them the same way. Limp and watch but you need to be careful if a K flops and there is much action or suspicious no action.
