Default Somone help me stop playing poker.

Well, I got my first payroll from my new job.
Ive been playing poker for about six months now. Won two tournaments, with about 700$ in prizes. I am no super player, but I feel I get a handle of the game. So i decide to start playing 1/2$ Limit Holdem. Well, what happens is it goes down. I lose about 100BB. A hard loss as I felt i got outdrawn in situations I didnt disurve.

Also I played alot of hands truly bad.

Well, my roll got smaller, and I did all that I should not have done, I played on even though I knew I was mad at the moment. Played higher limits, played lower. Played some tournaments with insane buy ins etc. I wasted about 300$ of my roll, and was left with about 70$.

Then I started thinking, maybe it is easier to play with some rakeback bonus, thinking you earn more money on the side.

Well, I went through TITN. And depositet 350$ into UltimateBet. I started playing and quickly went down some BB. Some bad play, some devastating beats. Also I tend to write [censored] in the chat when people call my raise with Q7s etc. And ofcourse thoose flushes and two pairs hit when I have KK or something.

I get mad, and lose some more. Im down about 100$ now.

I lie to my friends, saying ive earned some cash on poker. I know this is a truly bad sign. Well, I want to be a winning player. I want to understand what Im doing wrong. I want to be disciplined enough to grind the games knowing that it will get better.

The more I wanted it. The more aggressive my playing got.

To sum it up, Im now down to 37$ on UB. And 8$on Party. I had 414$on PP that i won in the tournament. I had 350$on UB.

This is alot of money, even though i looked at it as an "investment" and not money I would gamble away.

Now I need some serious advice. Ive used about 800$ on poker now. I know I have to stop, if i dont get the playing allright.

The first six months of my poker "career" ive depositet alot of 50$ here and there. Now I am starting to believe that poker will ruin my life if I dont start realizing things. What I have to realize I dont really know.

BBV, HELP ME!

Play with a decent sized roll and don't take shots.

But who the hell am I to talk, I'm down like 1300$ at live poker/blackjack in the past 2 weeks.

So my two tournament wins with 400+ players in both were just luck? Ofcourse I feel like a competent player when I win something. Especially twice.

$350 is not even close to enough for 1/2, esp 6-max.

He said that you are bad at poker, not that you are bad at Donkaments.

Ive read that 300BB should be enough. But yeah I understand that the variance can be greater at 6 max. So what is suggested?

the fact that you came to BBV for advice means you don't want to quit poker.
