Default the three barrel thread

post a hand where you fire three postflop bullets with a not-showdown worthy and unimproved hand.

thx!

Here's a made-up hand where I would fire thrice:

I raise 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] OTB and a weak 35/8/1.0/37 BB calls. Flop is T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. He checks, I bet, he calls. Turn A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. He checks, I bet, he calls. (I might not always bet here, but given a good image or a tendency for my opponent to peel flops a bit light and give up on the turn, I would bet.) River 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. He checks, I bet, he probably calls, but will fold missed draws that beat me in a showdown.

PokerStars 3/6 Hold'em (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Preflop: Hero is SB with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
2 folds, Button raises, Hero 3-bets, 1 fold, Button calls.

Flop: (7 SB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, Button calls.

Turn: (4.50 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, Button calls.

River: (6.50 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, Button folds.

Final Pot: 7.50 BB

Depends on your definition of non-showdownable, but anyway it turns out this was against a 24/13/1.8 over 400 hands. I don't remember playing this hand, so I can't tell you what I was thinking. Although, I was probably thinking that he's folding a better hand enough to make it a good river bluff. Looking at it now, that probably isn't true.

I really thought I had a better one than this. I'm still looking. Edit: Nope. They both turned into value bets on the river =P.

Good idea - I used to just never do it but have been looking to incorporate. Board texture just felt right to me here, meh?

Holy crap, I fire 3 barrels pretty regularly.
I haven't kept PT stats in a while, but really any time i read OP for a draw/ or the type that will call to river w/ ace high and then fold and i have a lower draw/ K high, i blaze away. I pretty much decide on the turn whether to fire a third barrel as it impacts my turn action, although if the river gives a likely str8 draw a pair/ straight or the flush comes in then i don't fire.

vickrey,
The Q9 hand is a lot like mine so I like it
The other two are ugly though - who folds the river on a TT25 board?

Vickrey, I think all your 3-barrels are spews.

I like mcGahees if the opponent is a TAG and you're image is good.

I like jazz's, ideally the board were a little more connected.

Im very intrigued by this thread cause I know I dont fire enough 3rd barrels, keep em coming.
