Re: NL50: AA. Me gets suspicious...
I bet 4 on flop, 8 on turn, c/c river. If he minraises turn, i'd probly fold and if he shoves turn I probly call. I think your losing massive amouts of value by c/c this down.

Re: NL50: AA. Me gets suspicious...
im not completely sure yet, but i think bet > c/f > c/c on this river (as opposed to b > c/c > c/f).
either way, im almost certain betting is best. Thoughts? |

Re: NL50: AA. Me gets suspicious...
Hmmm I think betting into the river here commits you to his minraise shove. looking at his river bet sizing, I dont think c/f is too unreasonable here either. I would say that c/c~=c/f > bet.

Re: NL50: AA. Me gets suspicious...
Yea thats my problem with betting here is he cant really be bluffing. I personally am no good at folding when im obviously beat but have commited so much. If you can bet 16ish and fold for 16 more then yes betting is probly the best line.

Re: NL50: AA. Me gets suspicious...
This type of Villain bets as many hands on the turn as he calls with. As I said in an earlier post, he can call the flop with Jack high or really a whole multitude of hands that have missed or hit this board very weakly. I think if you bet the turn and he calls, you have to bet the river for sure, otherwise you risk a lot of "check check" and him showing down like A8 or 99. But I think if you take OP's line, checking the river is correct.

Me being upset here was really just because I thought a good player (what I am of course not as just proved) could have gotten away from this hand somewhere [/ QUOTE ] I gotta agree with renton here alex. There is nothing about this hand vs. this villain that a good player could "get away from AA". This is a situation where IMO you should have gotten more value by betting the turn and probably the river. Yea sure he showed up with a set and you lost here, but the point is that you are getting value in similar spots much more often than you are giving it up. This is an edge that you push even though sometimes you will lose, obv. |

Re: NL50: AA. Me gets suspicious...
Alex, I think it's great that you had a read here and lost not too much, but it's a bad habit to c/call turn here.
Either c/f the turn and go with your read properly, or bet and maybe fold to the turn raise - he would have raised turn almost for sure. |
