Default Got a new car: what should i do to pimp my ride

Ok, so I had a 98 subaru legacy gt, and I held off on upgrading any audio or performance crap bc it was so old. I just got an 05 Legacy GT with 40k miles on it. Everything is stock, it's a sweet car with 250hp and factory turbo.

My favorite color for a car is black, but this is Atlantic Blue. It would cost too much for me to get it painted black, so I'm not going to do that, plus it lowers the value of the car to get it painted.

here's what it looks like

Let's say I have ~1k to spend on improvements. I listen to music basically all time time in the car, so cost effective audio improvements would be nice. Unfortunately I use an fm transmitter for my ipod and I hate the static that always accompanies the music for every station. Incorporating my ipod into the equation is key here.

Note that I can't change my stereo head because it's combined with the ac controls.

I'm assuming I should get new rims too, but they likely would be too expensive.

So, suggestions?

This is probably wrong. There is probably a kit for a new head unit that will make everything fit flush.

If you don't want to look into that, figure out if you have any auxilary inputs that you can hook an rca/head phone cord into. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't touch any of the audio until you get a good head unit. You could get a sub or two, though.

Edit- I like Alpines for subs. Type R<S<X, but I think they are all good for their respective price levels. If you want top of the line, get Alpine W7.

you should get one of those massive 4-way mega-lights that blasts up into the sky, and mount it on top. people would KNOW that you were coming!
