how does a bet let us see the river for free when we're 2nd to act? say we bet, two calls two folds, turn is a blank, we miss and check -- rarely do they both check here. it'd be different if we had lp/button.

BBB, all sorted then? ; fwiw i said 'free' because a calling station will often check behind the turn...so free = 1sb

I believe the bet is the best choice here. The range of the button is such that he isn't going to call this flop without a flush draw, he won't have a straight draw and he will call with any pocket pair. I believe that the K is in his range so I am killing outs if I am not ahead of sb here by checking this. I have some small fold equity because of the nature of the table in the last few rounds and I have good equity against random holdings from the sb. Otherwise I get 7 clean outs if I am behind. If sb is slowplaying a pair on this flop my raise will likely get me a free card if the button folds so I have 2 draws for a small bet here.

Obviously if either bet I have to fold ui on the turn.

As played the player checked the flop and the button bet out and the small blind called, leaving the player with a choice....

do you fold or call?

c/f flop plz

You dont have to win every pot and spewing chips to win a 3 SB pot is not only increasing your variance but also a -EV play.

And Smurph.

Putting a button open limper on a range that doesnt include straight draws on this board is just ridiculous.

I check the flop.

The pot is puny. The board is drawy and one villain is a calling station - I don't think a bet will win the pot often enough right here. Our K-high probably doesn't win this too often UI in showdown. Our semibluffing outs aren't necessarily clean either (alhough betting might clear some of those).

I don't hate the bet and probably would bet this HU but not against two villains on a board that is "limper high".

As played I fold after two callers. It's close but still. 5:1 immediate plus implied odds but I estimate 4-5 outs for us.

Smurph

LOL?
You are levelling right?

If not. So based on this
[ QUOTE ]
Not too much knowledge on Button other than knowing he is a sheriff who doesn't value bet. Has called down with K50 on AKx board with overaggressive preflop raiser (unless he's brain dead he had to know about the aggro guy) and called down with AJ on A turn against somewhat tighter player. Has folded on a few hands if he misses on the flop so I peg him so far as typical calling station with a any piece style.

[/ QUOTE ]

you conclude that he cannot have 64, T8, J8, Q8, K8, A8..?

pardon me, but

WTF?

Based on the reads you posted this guy can have anything. He is a mouthbreething idiot who openlimps on the button and calls down passively postflop. If you or anyone else ever wanna succed in 6max LHE you have to stop making ninja reads on morons and start assigning every possible holding to their range.
