Default FTP vs STARS - My view of Both after 3 yrs +

Greetings to all,

I've been playing poker for almost 4 years now. Started off live but due to living far from casinos and not many home games, I started playing on the internet.

I've pretty much played all the major internet sites except for the Prima sites. I have won lots of money, lost lots of money etc. The two sites I mainly stuck to for the most part were Stars and Full Tilt (Party while still open to US residents). And to be honest, I used Full Tilt for almost all the time I played online, until as of late that is. I'm pretty much sold on Stars for a few reasons I'll expand on.

First and foremost, their customer support is STELLAR. Everytime I've contacted Stars Customer Support, I've received a nice response with-in 24 hours, sometimes I'd get a response less than 2 hours after the initial e-mail. And the responses never felt automated, they were very personal and to the point (solving my problems). I really praise the support as I'm sure they get many, many ruthless emails.

Secondly, the check system from Stars is great. I live out in the boondocks but still receive a check from them with-in 8-10 business days of clicking the withdrawl button. Hell, I live in VT (yea that state called Vermont) and the check came from a bank in CA, and I clicked on withdrawl on Tuesday, and Wednesday the very next week, the check was in my mailbox. Bravo.

Thirdly, and again, this is a personal view, but I seem to get so many LESS bad beats / 1 outters on STARS. Before flaming, I don't have a stat tracker program, and don't really care to set one up. I play poker to enjoy the game. But after playing for roughly 1-2 years on Full Tilt, and 1 year on STARS (played alot more games tho it seems), the card generator seems more 'random'.

I don't want to say FTP is inferior, but I really have had a horrendous streak there (for almost 2 years). Never happened on any other site nor Live. Yes you see more cards on the internet, I understand, thus you more likely run into more coolers / bad beats. But I've also logged in many, many hands on Stars and compareably, they don't even come close to the bs that happens on FTP. It just seems FTP generates alot of 'action' flops to get as much rake as possible. Maybe I'm just on life tilt against FTP software, but after 2 years I think I propose a fair judgement. Flame all you want because I don't have the 'stats' to back it up but I feel STARS has way better 'random generators'... Maybe both use the same software? I don't know, but FTP just seems far more shady as far as cards are played. I do think they're commercials are the best (I like the new Ivey commercial where he's thinking outloud all the possibilities "Maybe he has kings, a straight, a flush... or maybe I'm drawing dead? I'm all in" hahah gotta love that).

Anyways, this thread was created to inform (or perhaps to create a discussion!) for those with less experience of online poker sites. I'm a pretty avid all-around poker player with lots of experience of playing in casinos (both cash and tournaments) along with home games and the internet as you can see. I'm not trying to hate on FTP, but it just seems I get donked out an incredible amounts of time. I don't want to list any given hand because of course coolers / bad beats will happen, and occur quite a bit due to the speed of the internetsssss, just from my experience FTP is alot worst than STARS. Anyways, back to work (actual job for me and you can find me @ STARS in the 2-4, 3-6, 5-10 NL and 2-4, 3-6 PL OMAHA .. sometimes I hop onto the higher LIMIT Holdem games too.

I am sure he did but he was just stating a fact that you present an arguement with no proof to back it up so your thought process is flawed making your post not worth reading up to that point. Dont see that as flaming he is simply helping you understand a flaw.

I read the 'before flaming' part.
But it's still a total loss of all credibility.

I also saw the part where you said "Flame all you want because I don't have the 'stats' to back it up but I feel STARS has way better 'random generators'"

Consider yourself flamed.
Also just assume you are going to continue to get flamed because most intelligent people will think your views of 'fewer 1-outers on such-and-such site' are ridiculous.

Riverstars is always runner runner flush or 2 outers anyways, not 1 outers (lolmaha aside). Any badbeat story aficionado knows that!

You guys prove how much of a gambling degenerate you really are. I make a post whole-heartedly trying to create a non-flame thread. I'm not trying to PROVE OR MAKE AN ARGUMENT FOR ANYTHING AS IT WOULD BE FOOLISH WITH NO STATS, IT'S A MERE OPINION FOR THOSE WHO SEEK IT. Making several notes that it's just a personal view and that I do not have stats to back it up. But I have over 3 years of experience of those two sites playing online (isn't that enough to form an opinion???). And even more playing live. I just don't understand how you degenerates can take a completely innocent thread and turn it into a flamefest. My congrats on doing so, it takes a true degenerate to do so. I hope I run into you guys in one of my cash games.
