The flop has very likely hit his range and your hand stands little chance of improving.

He could have reraised with suited connectors or aj, aq or not?

Yes, that is possible holdings, but, you have think longterm, A LOT of times this board is going to hit his range, so in the long term this is EV-.

Preflop is EV- too, I guess.
