Three Cards That Match 5/10 NL
I have basically just started this session. I have a suspicion that the villain is bad, but I can't remember why I think that and haven't really seen him get out of line yet. It could be that I have notes on him at another computer I've been playing on. Anyway, I got very excited because I had 3 of a kind on the flop and top kicker. Also, I float a lot of flops, but on the turn, what kind of hands do I beat? How else should I play this hand?
Online 10 handed MP2 raises to 45 (730), I (cover) call on the button with AK (suits irrelevant). I definitely mix up calling and reraising preflop with AK. Heads up to the flop. Flop: K K 4 rainbow Pot: 105 MP2 bets 125 (yeah, that was weird), I call. Turn: Q Pot: 365 MP2 checks, I bet 300, he pushes for 220 more, I scratch my head about how I played this hand and call. Comments appreciated. I guess my main question is between betting and checking the turn. |

This seems incredibly standard and you should be thrilled getting your money in.

If he had KQ then Unlucky....
You should have re-raised flop as its unlikely 44 raised PF.... I call this all day... |

Raising flop would have been very bad.

Re: Three Cards That Match 5/10 NL
I like to get my money in when I'm ahead....
K4 & 44 are the only hands that are beating us....Until the Q lands.. then its KQ/QQ/44 that are beating us... I would guess that villain had QQ and sucked out on turn...if thats the case then there is no escape unless a blank turn hits... An overbet of the pot on the flop leads me to believe villain doesn't have a K, but AA or QQ, possibly the other AK...or even KQ... However, even being really bad I can't imagine him raising KQ this much preflop....this means that its a big hand - AA/AK/QQ.... AA doesn't push turn IMO...Especially not check push...he led the flop and then check-raised turn AI... What hands do that unless villain is a complete fruitcake ! |
